Do you buy your jeans in a designer shop and have your jacket made to measure by a tailor? Then you could be the Propain type. Because the customisation options offered by the bike mail order company are almost limitless: Colour combinations and add-on parts can be freely configured. Our Propain Tyee AM Carbon with Sram XO1 Eagle and Fox Factory suspension elements is perfectly prepared for the test ride. The front is very low with a stack of 599 millimetres and keeps all options open. Despite the comfortable riding position, the front wheel doesn't tend to climb even on steep uphill ramps thanks to the long chainstays.
The rear suspension is best at smoothing out rough rock gardens on the climbs and builds up a lot of traction. The kinematics offer a very good compromise between sensitivity and drive efficiency. You can do without the (hard to reach) platform of the shock even on longer climbs. Downhill, the rear suspension is very sensitive and ensures good ground contact even in rough terrain. As it also has more travel, it is superior to the 140 mm fork. Long chainstays slow down the playfulness of the Tye.
Test summary of the Propain Tyee AM CF 27.5:
High-quality equipment and very good riding characteristics both downhill and uphill make the Propain Tyee AM a top all-rounder.
