The fact that it still only managed 1150 metres in altitude is due to the smaller 400 Wh pre-series battery that was installed in the test bike. Otherwise, the Austrian with its stylish, typical KTM look is unspectacular. It climbs well and is easy to control in all riding situations. The choice of tyres is not ideal: the Schwalbe Rocket Ron ruins the advantages of the Plus tyres: "Little grip and dangerously slippery in the wet," is the unanimous verdict of the test riders. The KTM is criticised for details such as the puncture-prone cable routing. Another pity: no dropper post.
ConclusionThe relatively inexpensive KTM has a highly efficient drive and solid riding characteristics.
