Martin, who rides flat pedals, rolls his eyes at the sight of Anton's shoes. This moment was predictable, but that it should come so soon? The promise of a fantastic panoramic tour has lured our four reader testers to Canale de Algordo in the most beautiful part of the Dolomites. You could say that the common denominator of the group is a love of mountain biking. The problem is that everyone defines biking in a different way.
The constant progress since the invention of the mountain bike has not only brought us disc brakes, suspension forks and fullys. It has also divided the bike scene into ever smaller subcultures. Our reader testers are the best proof of this. One likes to go on long tours, one is looking for an adrenaline rush on the descents, while the other two are somewhere between these two extremes. They all define themselves as mountain bikers, but their respective expectations of the sport are fundamentally different. We dared to experiment and asked the four of them to ride together on different equipment. Our aim: to find the best mountain bike for a tour in the Alps.
