The new Brose Drive S Mag has caused a sensation in Specialized's new Turbo Leo. Other bikes with the very well-balanced motor have been few and far between. At the BIKE Festival in Riva, Nox will be providing supplies.

The connection is obvious: Brose and Nox, both from Berlin. Although Nox has since relocated its headquarters to Austria, the forge's roots lie in the German capital.

At the BIKE Festival in Riva, the freeride manufacturer, whose range now consists solely of e-bikes, is presenting the prototype of a brand-new all-mountain full-suspension bike with the new Brose S-Mag motor and 630 Wh battery, which is integrated into the down tube.

Nox took the new shape of the motor as an opportunity to design a completely new chassis around it. The battery sits in the half-shell moulded down tube and is removed at the bottom.

Another special feature of the Nox: the frame can be fitted with both 27.5-inch and 29-inch wheels. This is made possible by a flip chip that is flange-mounted to the dropout and extends the chainstays accordingly.

The Nox Hybrid 5.9 is available in three versions. The Pro version comes with Fox Factory suspension and SRAM XO Eagle gears and will cost around 7,000 euros. The entry-level version is the Comp version, priced at around 4700 euros. Thanks to the new motor and the adapted design, the bike should be lighter than its predecessor and land at around 24 kilos. The newcomer should be available from autumn.
