If you don't like 29-inch wheels, Trek will continue to offer them. Both the Remedy and the Fuel EX will continue to roll on traditional wheels for the time being. However, the really new developments are taking place at 29 inches.
As a lightweight all-rounder from marathon to all-mountain, the Fuel EX with 130 millimetres of travel has become an absolute bestseller in the Trek fleet. The latest version with the suffix 29 concentrates on the same range of use and offers 120 millimetres of suspension travel. Six different models, including three aluminium and three carbon versions, are available in six finely graduated frame heights. 15.5 to 23 inches cover almost all rider sizes. Entry into the world of the Trek Fuel EX 29 starts at 2499 euros, while Trek offers customers the option of customising the top model Fuel EX 9.9 using an online configurator.
Trek customers can now register via Project One Configurator to design your own dream bike. Paintwork, lettering, components - everything can be customised according to taste and budget. If you are planning a custom build, you should have enough money set aside. In addition to the top-of-the-range Fuel EX 9.9 model, the two high-end Trek Superfly 9.9 models (hardtail and fully) can also be customised. To the Trek Project One online configurator
With a victory in the women's classification at the Enduro World Series in Punta Ala, the Remedy 29 has already won its first laurels, impressively demonstrating its potential. The all-mountain/enduro bike, which is available in two versions in Germany, will initially only be available in an aluminium version. The Remedy 8 will cost 3199 euros, while the Remedy 9 will be available for 4299 euros. The Remedy 9 with Fox suspension and XT equipment will weigh 13.4 kilos with 140 millimetres of suspension travel.
Further information and a first driving report can be found in BIKE 8/2013, on newsstands from 9 July. Also available as a digital edition.
