The Bulls Vuca Evo AM 2 with Pinion MGU drive will be part of the new mountain bike exhibition at the Deutsches Museum in Munich. The integration of motor and transmission in one unit and the optimised chassis represent the future of e-mountainbikes. Visitors will be able to admire the exhibits in the exhibition from autumn 2025.

The Cologne-based bicycle manufacturer Bulls and the drive specialist Pinion from Denkendorf are being honoured with the inclusion of their products in the German Museum in Munich. The E-MTB Bulls Vuca Evo AM 2 with the innovative Pinion MGU (Motor Gearbox Unit)) will be part of the new mountain bike exhibition, which will open in autumn 2025. The MGU and the Vuca Evo AM 2 are already on display in the museum as technological highlights and symbols of the future of cycling.

Integration of motor & gearbox in the Pinion MGU

The Pinion MGU is a pioneering development in the e-bike segment. It combines the electric motor and the gearbox in a compact unit and thus enables a completely new approach to the design of e-mountainbikes.

The engineers at Bulls were able to optimise their 4-link swing arm suspension through this integration. The suspended rear suspension has been completely decoupled from the drive influences of the high-torque mid-engine, which should lead to improved handling.

Dr Lukas Breitwieser, curator from the Traffic, Mobility and Transport Department of the Deutsches Museum, emphasises the importance of the exhibits:

We are delighted to have two outstanding exhibits in our museum: the Pinion MGU and the Bulls Vuca Evo AM 2. In their own way, both represent technical innovation and the transformation of the bicycle into an increasingly powerful vehicle. - Dr Lukas Breitwieser, Curator Deutsches Museum

This statement emphasises the importance of integrating electric drives into modern bicycle concepts for mobility development in general.

From bicycle to high-tech device

With the inclusion of the Bulls Vuca Evo AM 2 and the Pinion MGU, the Deutsches Museum marks an important step in the development of the bicycle. The classic bicycle with an electric motor as an auxiliary drive has become a fully integrated high-tech device. This evolution reflects technological progress and shows how the boundaries between different vehicle categories are becoming increasingly blurred.

View of the mountain bike exhibition

Although the full mountain bike exhibition will not be open to the public until autumn 2025, the current presentation of the MGU and the Bulls Vuca in the Deutsches Museum's Transport Centre already offers a foretaste of what is to come.

The exhibits illustrate the rapid development in the e-bike sector and emphasise the importance of the e-bike as an important part of modern mobility culture - perhaps even a turnaround in transport.

Technical cultural assets

For Bulls and Pinion, the inclusion of their products in the German Museum is a special honour. The motor-gearbox unit from Pinion and the E-MTB from Bulls are thus elevated to the status of technical cultural assets.

Thus ennobled, they show more than just the current state of the art, but also represent the innovative power of the bicycle industry. As exhibits in the world's largest technical museum, they help to make the history and future of mobility accessible to a wide audience.
