After five years, Cannondale is launching not one, but two new editions of the Habit. The two versions are designed to offer the right companion for every rider. The normal Cannondale Habit is designed for those looking for a light and flowing bike. The Habit LT, on the other hand, is equipped to tackle rougher and tougher terrain. The geometry has also been adapted and gets the modern longer/flatter treatment.
The Americans have given the Cannondale Habit a slacker head angle and a steeper seat angle. The seat tube has also been shortened to allow longer seat posts to be fitted. Despite the increase in suspension travel, the Habit LT has the same main frame. The longer fork makes the steering and seat angle a little slacker.
The engineers at Cannondale rely on the so-called "Proportional Response Geometry". The aim is to always position the rider in the centre between the two wheels. To achieve this, the chainstays are lengthened or shortened depending on the frame size. This should make the Habit and Habit LT feel as if they were built individually for each rider. The suspension kinematics are also customised for the different sizes. For the carbon models, each frame size has a customised geometry and suspension. There are three different kinematics for the aluminium versions. The XS has its own due to its 27.5 inch wheels. S and M, as well as L and XL, share the other two configuration levels.
With the new Habit models, Cannondale has attached great importance to making the bikes as easy to maintain as possible. The bottom bracket is bolted and not pressed, the headset also has standard dimensions and the new UHD derailleur hanger is also located on the rear triangle. In order to be able to carry tools on the bike, the carbon bikes also offer the option of securing tools and equipment with an elasticated strap.
The Habit Carbon 1 has a full carbon frame with a RockShox Deluxe Select+ shock paired with a RockShox Pike Select+ fork. The gearing is based on the Sram GX groupset with Sram G2 R brakes. To generate more grip on the front wheel, a Maxxis Dissector tyre is fitted. The fully costs 5599 euros.
For 4499 euros, you get a full carbon frame with a RockShox Deluxe Select+ shock and a RockShox Pike Select fork. In contrast to the top model, the bike has a Shimano drivetrain and Shimano brakes.
According to the manufacturer's website, the aluminium top model of the Cannondale Habit costs € 3999 and has the same suspension as the carbon model. The gears are shifted by a Sram NX groupset, while a Sram G2 R brings the bike to a standstill.
The entry-level Habit 4 model costs 2699 euros and is equipped with a Shimano Deore groupset. The suspension consists of a RockShox Recon RL fork and a RockShox Deluxe Select shock.
The carbon Habit LT comes with 140 millimetres of suspension travel from a RockShox Super Deluxe Select+ shock and a 150 millimetre RockShox Lyrik Select+ fork. The Cannondale Fully is powered by a Sram GX groupset, and the braking power comes from a Sram Code R with 200 millimetre brake discs, front and rear. The Habit LT 1 costs 5999 euros.
The Cannondale Habit LT 2 has an aluminium main frame with a RockShox Super Deluxe Select+ shock. A RockShox Lyrik Select fork works at the front. The gears and brakes are a mixture of Shimano XT, SLX and Deore components. The yellow or black mountain bike is for sale at Cannondale for 3999 euros.
