The Bold Linkin Trail already caused a furore last year. The reason: the fully hides its shock in the seat tube, giving it a particularly clean look. One year after the introduction of its first mountain bike, Bold is launching another version with an invisible shock. The new Bold Linkin Trail LT utilises the same carbon main frame as the well-known Linkin Trail. A new rear triangle and a new DT Swiss shock with 55 instead of 50 millimetres of travel give the carbon bike an additional 15 millimetres of suspension travel. The new Linkin Trail therefore has 155 millimetres of rear suspension travel and is supplied with correspondingly longer forks.
From this season, both the Linkin Trail and the new Linkin Trail LT can be fitted with dropper seat posts with internally routed cables. Depending on your preferences, either 29er or 27.5-plus wheels can be fitted and the frame is compatible with both sizes.
According to the manufacturer, the frame including the shock will be a maximum of 30 to 50 grams heavier than the existing model. The new version will be available from 20 May, when the frame will cost 3885 euros. The already available Bold Linkin Trail with 130 mm rear suspension will remain in the product range of the Swiss direct mail order company.
