The speculation has come to an end: Liteville is closing the gap between the all-purpose 301 (120 to 170 mm) and the long-stroke 901 (170 to 200 mm) with the 601, which will be available from March 2011.

This time you have the choice between 165 or 190 millimetres of travel, the frame (without shock) should weigh around 2780 grams and thus be 300 grams lighter than the 901. The tapered head tube, chainstays and chain guide come from the 301, the geometry is similar to the 901. With a 180 mm Fox 36 Talas fork, the steering angle oscillates between 64.2 and 65.7 degrees depending on the position of the shock slider (shifting of the gearing). With Shimano's new All Mountain XTR, DHX air shock and Syntace wheels, the 601 weighs just 13.2 kilos!

Damper position: The fine toothing on the upper damper mount opens up a lot of leeway for fine adjustment.
