Following the success of the eRace electric hardtail, KTM has now also integrated the Bionx rear-wheel drive into its best-selling fully. The result is the eLycan.

The KTM eLycan is a 20-kilogram 120-millimetre all-mountain bike with XT equipment and a specially adapted electric motor for 3499 euros. The 250 watt motor, which provides assistance up to a maximum speed of 25 km/h, weighs less than seven kilograms with the motor (3.5 kilograms) and battery (3.4 kilograms) and, with four support and recovery levels each, can ideally cover 80 kilometres. Shifting is also possible under load, braking is on the somewhat weak Tektro Auriga with 180 mm discs. Given the considerable weight, these should be larger for tours in the mountains. In addition, the extra weight in the rear wheel affects the handling and makes the bike sluggish.
