Even though some testers have recognised a certain visual similarity between the Haibike Q FS RX and Trek bikes, the appealing appearance cannot be denied. At 13.6 kilos including pedals, the Haibike is one of the heavier bikes in the test due to the rather heavy frame and the generous wheels. However, the equipment with Shimano XT shifting components and a complete Fox suspension system is quite impressive. Due to the long head tube, the front end of the Q FS RX is quite high and causes the front wheel to rise early on climbs. In addition, the sensitive rear end suffers from drivetrain influences, causing some of the pressure on the pedals to fizzle out in the shock. However, the platform damping of the Float RP2 shock can effectively prevent bobbing and is therefore a must on every climb. As soon as the downhill force pulls on the front wheel, the Haibike is more in its element and scores with its comfortable suspension. Unfortunately, the bike lacks useful details such as thru-axles for more stiffness and a closed cable routing on the gears.
ConclusionExcept for the existing drive influences, the visually successful Haibike presents itself as a comfortable tourer with high-quality equipment.
