The Haibike Impact is a comfort tourer - the high front makes the Impact less sporty.

Anyone who saved the Impact from the test two years ago with its then outstanding equipment and marathon genes will not recognise the 2012 version: Magura fork instead of Reba SL, Suntour instead of Fox shock. Only the colourful design has remained. The Impact has lost some of its sporty features: on the one hand, a little energy is lost through bobbing of the shock. On the other hand, all test riders found the front end with the long fork (130 mm) and the long head tube (145 mm) too high. The narrow 620 mm handlebars, the long stem and the high bottom bracket left a stilted riding impression - some cockpit tuning is needed.

ConclusionComfort tourer - the Impact loses some of its sportiness due to the high front.

The Magura fork and the rear triangle on the Impact both have sporty, firm characteristics. On the Suntour shock, the full suspension travel can be utilised despite the strong end progression. However, the fork offers significantly more travel than the rear. At the beginning, the fork dives away and later the end progression is too strong.Photo: BIKE Magazin The Magura fork and the rear triangle on the Impact both have sporty, firm characteristics.
