The Heet SL from Haibike is a long-stroke touring bike for riders with sporty aspirations. Weaker downhill than the competition.

Two and a half kilos for the frame and shock with 160 millimetres of suspension travel - that's something to be proud of. Haibike bakes an unrivalled lightweight chassis from carbon fibre, which saves a kilo compared to the Jekyll, for example. The sporty claim is also manifested in the narrow tyres and the moderate stiffness. In other words, the other all-mountain bikes are designed to handle really rough terrain. Our opinion: The quality of the suspension travel is becoming increasingly important. The developers have not yet found the optimum suspension set-up. Certain drive influences and a degressive characteristic ensure that the Heet SL is not at the top of its game despite the long suspension travel. On the hard, fast descents of the test lap, every tester felt more insecure than with Cannondale, Trek or Stöckli, for example. There is a lack of composure, the bike is not as stable due to its low weight and short wheelbase. But that's complaining on a high level. If you're looking for a comfort tourer with a carbon frame, you won't find many suitable bikes under 3000 euros - the Heet is one of them. Praise: Telescopic seat post with remote control, a carbon fibre plate protects the down tube.

Criticism: heavy wheels, bolted rear thru-axle, the braking power of the Magura system is modest.
