The newly developed AMR Plus is a safe bet. The suffix Lector refers to the carbon version, with the main frame made of carbon fibre and the rear triangle made of aluminium. The carbon frame has an advantage of 600 grams over the AMR aluminium models, and at three kilos including shock, the chassis is below the group average. At 12.8 kilos, the Lector weighs one kilo less than its cheaper brother, the AMR 5900 (BIKE 12/11->) despite the telescopic seat post (additional weight approx. 350 g). You don't want to be without it, even if it doesn't have a handlebar remote. The stiffness is also suitable for heavy riders, and the 1.5-inch head tube also contributes to the high steering precision. All test riders liked the newly developed geometry very much. The suspension is very sensitive and comfortable and promotes uphill traction. If you find the rear end too nervous, you can adjust the platform on the Fox shock to varying degrees. Once again, the Shimano XT groupset impresses with its ergonomic operation and very good brakes. Good: five frame sizes, ISCG mount.
PLUS Very good chassis, stiff, light frame, good equipment
MINUS Tele support without remote control
BIKE TIP Price-performance ratio
ConclusionVery good all-mountain bike. Can do everything, well equipped, nice frame, effective suspension.
