Ghost knows what bikers need: In terms of riding position and handling, nothing is left to be desired. In this class, the "AMR Plus" proved to be a rocket uphill without losing any ground in the downhill classification.

Here comes riding fun: The "AMR Plus 9 000" fulfils the all-mountain application area like no other bike in the test. Thanks to the compact riding position, it performs just as well on long climbs as it does on demanding descents. The bike feels fast, even though it weighs a few grams more than three of its competitors (Cannondale, Fusion, Merida). Thanks to the sporty riding position, it is manoeuvrable on the trail and pushes forwards well, which the testers liked. The cockpit is a success: The wide handlebars together with the grippy tyres ensure control.

A set of tubeless tyres could tease out a bit more grip, the Mavic "Crossmax" rims are designed for this. The suspension works well, but the shock has to be ridden with a lot of pressure (twelve bar at a rider weight of 80kg). Heavy riders could possibly have problems here, although Ghost approves the bike for riders weighing up to 120kg. In terms of equipment and looks, the "AMR Plus" doesn't need to hide behind the competition. A complete Shimano "XT" groupset in combination with SRAM "X.9" triggers and "X.0" rear derailleur complete the picture together with the Ritchey "WCS" components.

CONCLUSIONS: Ghost knows what bikers need: In terms of riding position and handling, nothing is left to be desired. In this class, the "AMR Plus" proved to be a rocket uphill without losing any ground in the downhill classification.
