In terms of price/performance, the Ghost AMR is ahead of the competition and it also comes out on top downhill.

Ghost also utilises the latest technology in its revised AMR. The bike has a new carbon fibre main frame with a massive look and high rigidity. Ghost has also fitted a long Fox fork with 150 millimetres of travel, a tapered steerer tube and thru-axles at the front and rear. The product managers don't do things by halves when it comes to brakes and tyres either, relying on large discs and wide Fat Albert tyres.

A glance at the geometry gives you an idea: The practical test reveals a downhill-orientated character. The AMR doesn't climb as willingly as the competition (slack seat angle), the shock needs a lot of air pressure (17 bar) and the platform setting, otherwise it dives in deep. On the other hand, the rear is super sensitive - you can feel the new needle bearings on the rocker. On the downhill, the plush suspension puts the competition in its pocket when things get really rough. Only the Trek Remedy can keep up here. The Ghost is therefore recommended as a downhill-orientated all-mountain bike that can also get up any climb under its own steam.

AttentionOnly available in three frame sizes.

CONCLUSIONPrice/performance ratio: The Ghost AMR is ahead of the competition and also comes out on top downhill.
