We have already become accustomed to sensational prices on Caribbean holidays. But in the bike market, too, customers are benefiting from the increasing price war between the various suppliers. Today, you can definitely get more bike for your money in the €1500 price range than two or three years ago. Specialist brands also have to adapt to this tougher market situation if they want to survive in a competitive environment. Lousy equipment is not tolerated by the end consumer, even in this relatively inexpensive fully category. It is somewhat easier for the mail order companies to equip their bikes to a high standard - they save themselves the margins to the retail trade.
