No bike polarised our testers more than the Focus Northern Lite Team. From "fun machine" to "rather inconspicuous" to "doesn't work at all", everything was represented. This contradiction can also be seen on the bike: the disagreement in the design can be seen in the mixture of purple and red elements.
But that wasn't the only area of disagreement: despite the acceptable 12.85 kilos that the bike weighed, it didn't want to climb well. Everyone felt that the top tube length was short and caused the front wheel to rebel on steep sections.
The Focus found its true metier in flowing trails, where it zips along smoothly - despite the short suspension travel. The fork and rear complemented each other very well in combination with the wide handlebars.
The reduced level of equipment can be overcome by the price. The Fizik saddle met with the unreserved approval of all testers.
Conclusion: Affordable lady's bike for technical trails.
