The Virtue Comp with 120 millimetres of travel at the front and rear is sporty despite being slightly overweight and is primarily aimed at marathon beginners and ambitious touring riders. In the size we rode, the riding position is very short, but quite flat with a decent saddle rise. In combination with the steep 73° seat angle, this guarantees good climbing characteristics.
Just like the significantly more expensive Edict race model, the Virtue rear suspension with RockShox Ario shock also shines with its fine response and usable travel. A certain amount of damper bottoming out when pedalling is the price for the sensitive rear triangle with plenty of comfort and traction. The built-in Recon fork, also with 120 millimetres of travel, ranks between a Sektor and Reba in terms of function. Compared to the rest of the field, the equipment with Deore 9-speed drivetrain, less powerful Deore brakes and cheap components is the least convincing. In addition, there are no quick-release saddle clamps and the seatpost should be lowered.
PLUS Sensitive rear wheel 120 mm, good geometry
MINUS Weak equipment, saddle can hardly be lowered
