Fatmodul was created as the house brand of the Munich bike shop Alphabikes. The search for the perfect bike was the driving force behind the creation of their own bike brand - nothing more and nothing less. You can see that a lot of passion has gone into the bikes, which have been tested on the Isar trails, in the Ant, which is littered with useful details. Thanks to the double crankset with a 39 mm chainring, the hard-working Ant has plenty of ground clearance, while the Bionicon mini chain guide prevents loud chain slap. An ISCG mount even ensures Hammerschmidt compatibility. With a short 75 mm stem, the position is quite short and compact, but the steep seat angle pushes the body weight forwards, which promotes propulsion on steep ramps. Downhill, the wide 700 mm handlebars in combination with a 68 mm head angle ensure good control, even if the bottom bracket and therefore the centre of gravity are a little high. The DT damper reacts sensitively to subtleties, but feels rather firm on rough terrain and not at all like the generous 157 millimetres measured. There is potential for tuning the Conti Mountain King tyres from last year - the new models are better.
