E-MTB with potential: Haro Shift i/05
If you know anything about BMX sports, the name Haro will make your eyes light up. Company founder Bob Haro was one of the founders of freestyle BMX - his fans call him the "Godfather of Freestyle".

Nevertheless, the brand is now increasingly focussing on E-MTBs. The chassis of the Shift i/05 is superbly finished and shines with cleanly polished weld seams - BMXers simply have a sense of aesthetics. The geometry is modern with a slack head angle and moderately short chainstays. The bike is manoeuvrable on singletrack trails, can also be lifted into the air thanks to its low overall weight and, with the powerful Shimano motor, has a high-quality centrepiece. However, the riding characteristics suffer from the comparatively underpowered Suntour fork and the low-profile Kenda Havoc tyres. Replacing the tyres would significantly improve the bike's performance on rough terrain, which would also improve the Haro's score.

Weaknesses at the front: The low-profile Kenda Havoc tyres on the front of the Haro Shift may roll easily, but they are overtaxed on rough terrain. Even the inexpensive Suntour fork can't hold a candle to the competition.Photo: Markus GreberWeaknesses at the front: The low-profile Kenda Havoc tyres on the front of the Haro Shift may roll easily, but they are overtaxed on rough terrain. Test summary of the Haro Shift i/05

High-quality frame with beautiful details - a geometry with potential. However, the weak fork and the tyres prevent a better grade.
