With the Cube Stereo Super HPC 140 Race, the Cube makers have achieved a great success.

Let's not beat about the bush: Cube has set the benchmark with the brand new Stereo 29er carbon chassis. 2.2 kilos of lightweight chassis, a well-tuned rear triangle and a comfortable, not too bulky geometry. You will hardly find better designs in the 29er sector. The bike delivers the "aha" effect that makes even convinced 26-inch riders wonder. The long suspension travel combined with the large wheels gives the bike enormous confidence. Rarely has the choice of lane been more irrelevant. The suspension snuffs out all obstacles. Why should you ride anything else? A frown when you look at the points table: The reason why the bike doesn't score better is that we're dealing with the cheapest of the three Stereo models (which, however, already benefits from the top suspension). This results in the comparatively heaviest wheels, and the indispensable dropper post is also missing.

Conclusion: a great success. The Stereo impresses with its handling and versatility. It's a shame that the features aren't quite convincing.

PLUS Very light carbon frame, top suspension, extremely confident handling.
MINUS Heavy wheels, no telescopic support, no space for a large water bottle. Only a three-year guarantee.
