The Commencal T.E.M.P.O. is known as a short-stroke fun bike. Commencal has now added the power of a light e-MTB motor to this concept under the name Power. This is not just any motor, but the lightweight Bosch Performance SX motor with 600 watts of maximum power and 55 Newton metres of torque (manufacturer's specification, extensively tested here). The result should be a playful, efficient and versatile light bike. With 135 millimetres of travel at the rear and 150 millimetres at the front, the Commencal T.E.M.P.O. Power should not only be fun on radical descents, but also on smoother, less steep terrain. The new E-Fully should score points on flowing, built trails as well as on natural paths and, according to Commencal, is aimed at bikers who are looking for easy handling, comfort, competence and dynamics in equal measure. Here are the details of the Commencal T.E.M.P.O. Power of the 2025 model generation.
To ensure that the new T.E.M.P.O. Power is fun to ride in varied terrain and copes well with a constant change of up- and downhills, the new light bike should not be too heavy. Despite the robust aluminium frame, the manufacturer specifies a complete bike weight from 19.9 kilos. Optimised weight distribution should ensure reactive manoeuvrability. Nice: Commencal offers a lifetime warranty on the aluminium frame for first-time owners.
The geometry also matches the intended character. A moderate steering angle of 64.6 degrees is intended to give the bike lively handling even on flat trails. Even the reach values remain moderate. The chainstays measure 445 millimetres in all frame sizes. The seat tubes are short for a high degree of freedom of movement. On steep climbs, a 76.3 degree seat angle should ensure climbing efficiency. The new Commencal T.E.M.P.O. does without a flip chip. Power.
In the Downhill World Cup, no other manufacturer has achieved as many victories as Commencal. We also heaped praise on the latest big bike from the direct mail order company from Andorra in our test. The T.E.M.P.O. trail bike aims to capitalise on these laurels. Commencal has christened the rear triangle design "Virtual Contact System", and the developers have put a lot of work into its kinematics. An optimised leverage ratio and a reduced anti-squat value are intended to increase pedalling efficiency, comfort and sensitivity at the same time.
Commencal offers the new T.E.M.P.O. Power in just two different equipment variants. There is a choice of four frame sizes from S to XL. The new e-bike should be available from February 2025.
