The Consignor Commencal from Andorra is known for its downhill-orientated bikes. As with the "muscle bikes", Commencal also relies on modern geometry paired with robust add-on parts for its E-MTBs. In the new Meta Power, the Current Shimano Intube battery is used. This not only allows for slim integration, but also a low centre of gravity. However, the weight is likely to have increased again.
There are two versions to choose from: The Meta Power 29 is an enduro bike and aims to impress both uphill and downhill. As the name suggests, it has 29-inch wheels at the front and rear. At 475 millimetres in L, the reach is modernly long, while the 65-degree head angle promises a smooth ride. A 160 Rock Shox Lyrik works at the front, a Super Deluxe with 150 millimetres of travel at the rear. The twelve gears are shifted by Sram's Eagle drivetrain and the DT Swiss wheels round off the package. Considering the equipment, the price (5799 euros) sounds fair.
The Meta Power SX is aimed at bike park riders and is mounted on more stable and playful 27.5 mm wheels. The rear triangle is nine millimetres shorter than the 29er and the reach is another centimetre longer. The SX comes with a 40 mm stem, not a 50 mm stem like the 29er. The steering angle is also slacker at 64 degrees. There is a 180 mm Lyrik at the front and a steel spring Deluxe with 170 millimetres of travel at the rear. The price is slightly lower at 5499 euros, which is reflected in the add-on parts. Both bikes should be available from September.
