Endurance test performance: 3,250 km / 18,000 altitude metres
Women need favourite parts - not only for their wardrobe - but also for sport. About 3000 kilometres ago, the Ghost AMR Miss 7500 crossed my path. I liked the bike straight away. Until then, I had only travelled on men's bikes, so I was curious to see whether the Ghost was also technically convincing. With the Isar trails 100 metres from my front door, the endurance test route was quickly decided. Coarse rock, root passages, mud and sand - sometimes steeply uphill and sometimes downhill - can be found at every corner.
I realised after the first lap: I didn't need the women's geometry. Half a kilo less would also have been much more convincing in terms of weight. Over twelve kilos and a noticeable top-heaviness make the AMR too sluggish for trails with frequent changes of direction. The Ghost copes perfectly with longer, not too steep climbs. Downhill, the 120 mm travel is more than enough. The bike didn't let itself be rattled.
The Shimano brakes held everything my body weight could throw at them. Apart from a bent rear derailleur and a new brake lever after a crash, I didn't have to spend much time maintaining the bike. The shock leaked oil for the first few kilometres (due to overfilling), after that everything ran like clockwork.
Conclusion: The Ghost AMR Miss 7500 is suitable for moderate touring in the German low mountain range and the Bavarian Alps. Solidly built, a visual highlight - a small diet - and the female biker would once again have a favourite bike.
