In the women's sector, Canyon once again proves how to build stiff frames. The "Nerve WXC" leads the table in both the absolute and STW categories. With so much stiffness in the frame, the bike can be manoeuvred extremely precisely over the trails, regardless of the situation. The lightweight components reinforce this feeling: Easton carbon handlebars, Syntace stem, "XT"/"X.9" mix through to the DT complete wheels. Only the best for women. There is a slight imbalance in the travel of the Fox suspension, as one of the testers noted. The travel is too short at the front compared to the rear. 100 to 116 millimetres, the measured values confirm the feeling. Despite the shorter travel, the fork soaks up bumps very lively, while the rear suspension seems a little over-damped even with the rebound fully open. For sporty use, such as marathons, the comfort is certainly sufficient, but more sensitivity in the suspension would be desirable for tricky trail sections. But back to the geometry. The straight Thomson seatpost leads to a forward sitting position, which two testers criticised. Otherwise, the long head tube makes for a successful, not overly sporty riding position.
CONCLUSIONThe lightweight "Nerve WXC 9.0" is ideal for sporty use thanks to its stiff frame. The choice of components impressed the testers.
TUNING TIP: Fit offset seat post.
