Canyon Nerve CF 8.0
With the Nerve CF, Canyon delivers a prime example of an all-mountain sports bike. Light, fast, well-equipped and attractively priced.

In the expensive CF 9.0 LTD version, the newly developed Nerve with carbon frame has already impressed us (BIKE 8/2012 ->). If you look at the CF 8.0 for € 2999, you wonder why you should spend more money. The bike is fully equipped for the range of use, including a telescopic seatpost and very light wheels, which are good for acceleration. No competitor can hold a candle to the Canyon in terms of fork and suspension weight either. All in all, the Nerve is the lightest bike in this comparison group and is also the fastest uphill bike on the test lap. Marathon missions are part of the portfolio, and the bike is in its element on demanding tours. The rear works unobtrusively, but is not oversensitive. You don't need the CTD adjustment and can ride the shock constantly open. The rear suspension travel is fully utilised. Confident handling downhill!

PLUS Low weight, sensibly selected equipment, sporty riding characteristics, light, well thought-out chassis
MINUS Rear thru axle can only be operated with an Allen key

The alternative
If you can do without the carbon frame, the Nerve AL 9.0 SL offers even higher quality equipment for the same money: Fox Factory suspension, Shimano XTR and Mavic Crossmax ST.
