Let's remember Uma Thurman, alias Black Mamba, in Kill Bill: a long-legged killing machine of the highest precision and efficiency. Black Mamba can take on a whole army of swordsmen. In our fiction, Hattori Hanzo would not have forged a sword for Black Mamba, but instead would have clamped the Trigger 29 Carbon under its narrow arse. It is unrivalled in terms of precision and efficiency.
The relatively light carbon chassis together with the Lefty fork is extremely stiff and direct, the front wheel follows the rider's wishes exactly. We positioned the stem as low as possible and gave the Trigger a real spur uphill. The steep seat angle and the rear that can be tightened with the click of a thumb (reduced suspension travel) also take the sting out of steep ramps, the rear works without breakaway torque and is therefore very sensitive and comfortable. The 130 millimetres of travel naturally feel a little firmer compared to the long-travel BMC, but the good feedback underlines the precise riding feel - the Trigger is confidence-inspiringly secure even on rough rocky downhill sections and remains playful enough for quick direction changes and moto-whips. There's nothing to criticise in terms of the equipment in line with the price, the top model is equipped for the sword fight against the "Crazy 88". As expected, the tyres (light wheels), gears, brakes and dropper post work perfectly. The only thing the Trigger can't do is the five-point pressurised heart explosion technique.
Conclusion Killer bike that extends the range of use beyond the all-mountain limits. Thanks to the carbon frame, the Trigger weight is now in the green (touring) range.
