Brand new: Cannondale Scalpel in 29 inch
The latest addition to the Cannondale range rolls on 29-inch wheels and bears the name Scalpel 29, although the completely new development has little in common with the existing 26er Scalpel.

What characterises a good Twentyniner-Fully?

The Cannondale engineers have been working intensively on this question over the last two years and have provided the right answer with the Scalpel 29. In addition to a short wheelbase and therefore agile handling stood Low weight and very High rigidity in the specifications. However, the new, significantly wider 29er has nothing in common with the existing 26-inch Scalpel, which is only recommended for racers due to its uncompromisingly firm alignment. With active and usable 100 millimetres of travel at the front and rear, the Scalpel 29 offers a lot of comfort and is also great fun on trails away from the racetrack.

The most important key data at a glance:

  • 1900 grams without shock absorber, 10.5 kilos total weight without pedals
  • short chainstays and short wheelbase like the 29er hardtail
  • Very precise handling due to high rigidity
  • 100 millimetres front and rear suspension travel
  • Two equipment variants for 5999 and 3999 euros in carbon fibre
  • Two aluminium models for 1999 and 2499 euros respectively
