With the Trailfox, BMC has created a solid all-mountain bike with a great look. The high weight detracts from the sporty appeal, while the comparatively inexpensive equipment and, above all, the heavy wheels are responsible for the hip rings. Uphill you feel comfortable in the saddle, but take it easy. The rear end is also very sensitive on the climbs and manages without a platform (rather firm tuning). The fork responds very sensitively, but there is no levelling adjustment for steep ramps. Downhill, the bike is plush and you'll be pleased with the good suspension function. On single trails, it lacks manoeuvrability (long wheelbase). The tyres are too narrow for rough terrain.
ConclusionThe Trailfox offers an extremely comfortable chassis. The drawback is the high weight.
