BH Bikes will be equipping some of its e-mountainbikes with Yamaha's new PW-X drive for the first time in 2017. The Rebel series will be powered by Yamaha units - specifically the two top models Rebel 27.5+ Pro and Rebel Lynx.
Yamaha has thoroughly revised the PW drive. The PW-X is 380 grams lighter than its predecessor, takes up less space and also offers a higher torque of 80 Nm. In addition to the new motor, the top models from BH also come with the control unit and display from Yamaha. BH Bikes mounts the display next to the stem so that it is better protected. The control unit, on the other hand, is positioned directly next to the handlebar. A 500 Wh battery is also used on both e-bikes. You can find an exclusive ride report on the Yamaha PW-X here.
The Lynx is based on the Basque all-mountain bike and offers 140 millimetres of suspension travel. This is controlled by a Split Pivot rear triangle. The hardtail is also designed to provide fun on the trail. A Fox 32 Float suspension fork damps both bikes. Shifting is done with Shimano's XT. There is an optional trail kit for both bikes, which includes a Kindshox dropper post.
BH Bikes shows the models at the Eurobike in Friedrichshafen. The equipment variants and prices will then also be finalised. The delivery times are also not yet known.
