Balanced all-rounder: Propain Hugene on test
The Hugene from Propain is a firm favourite in the all-mountain segment and has already won a number of tests in the past. Will it do the same in 2022?

The relaunched frame is now entering its second season and has a modern geometry with a slack head angle and long reach. The carbon frame has also been lightened by a few grams. Thanks to the 76.2 degree steep seat angle, there is enough pressure on the front wheel when climbing, yet the seat length remains slightly sporty. Perfect for a balanced all-rounder. The Hugene goes its own way with the extremely long chainstays: no other competitor has 444 millimetres to offer. On the one hand, this helps when climbing, but if you want to lift the front wheel, a lot of effort is required. Together with the much more expensive Bulls, Propain delivers the best equipment in the test field.

CONCLUSION on the Propain Hugene:

The excellently equipped Hugene is well-balanced and perfectly suited to its intended use. However, the rear suspension could be a little more sensitive for our taste. That costs points.
