Stylish and relatively affordable: The Lapierre is a great bike for women who are looking to enter the all-mountain segment. It scores points above all with its downhill qualities.

The Zesty takes high drops and long jumps effortlessly. The rear end in particular is "incomparably smooth" compared to the competition. The harmonious suspension and the upright riding position also have an effect on downhill handling: "The bike can be controlled very well without being nervous," the testers were pleased to report. On climbs, the fork can be locked out but not lowered. However, the climbing characteristics do not suffer as a result.

PLUS Safe handling, smooth chassis, price
MINUS No level control, favourable wheels, no bottle cage position

Gitta Beimfohr joined the BIKE travel resort during her tourism studies when the Strada delle 52 Gallerie on the Pasubio was closed to mountain bikers. Since Gitta crossed the Alps twice at racing speed, she has favoured multi-day tours - by MTB in the Alps or by gravel bike through the German low mountain ranges.
