The Cube Stereo One55 C:62 for € 3999 offers a very good overall package with its high-quality equipment and top riding performance. It's even the best of the 2023 all-mountain bikes up to 5000 euros that we compared - well-deserved test victory.

A 1.5 degree slacker head angle, 20 millimetres more reach and a lower bottom bracket - Cube's all-mountain bike has undergone a radical transformation for the 2023 model year. With the geometry update, the Cube Stereo One55 is clearly an all-mountain bike of the downhill-heavy variety. The long wheelbase and flat front create a very high level of riding safety on high-speed sections and steep terrain. The versatile, adjustable Fox suspension with the X2 enduro shock leaves no doubt about the downhill capabilities of the Stereo One55.

Although it has 150 millimetres of suspension travel at the rear and front is not one of the bikes with the most suspension travel in the comparison testour test crew gave the One55 the most confident suspension performance. Cube also makes no compromises when it comes to tyre choice and specifies a 2.5 mm Maxxis Assegai in the softest rubber compound on the front wheel. This is a major contributor to the Cube's victory in the downhill classification.

Sensational frame weight: 2614 grams

With a frame weight of 2614 grams, the candidate also takes the lead in this category. Despite the downhill-orientated equipment, the Cube is still in the midfield in terms of overall weight.

Due to the comfortable riding position, you won't be setting the fastest times uphill, but you can still climb long ascents in a relaxed manner - just as an all-mountain bike should.

Those looking for technical challenges on the climbs will benefit from the pleasantly steep seat angle. This shifts the centre of gravity towards the front wheel and makes it easier to control. If you don't like carrying a rucksack, you'll be pleased with the additional mounting point on the top tube and the storage compartment in the down tube.

Conclusion on the Cube Stereo One55 C:62 SLX 29 in the test:

The Cube Stereo One55* rides relaxed on tour, is light enough for long climbs and offers great reserves downhill. Coupled with the high-quality equipment, Cube put together the best overall package in the test. - Max Fuchs, BIKE editor
