Cube product manager Frank Greifzu on the genesis of the BIKE anniversary bike in the guise of the late 80s:

BIKE: Which design elements did you orientate yourselves on?
Greifzu: We analysed your early magazines: What patterns and colours were all the rage in the late 80s? Then we asked ourselves: What would the CUBE logo have looked like in 1989? This is how the design was created in the typically freaky style of your early years.

What is the effort behind such a custom design?
Normally, the designs are gradually developed from model year to model year. Here, however, we had to turn the clock back 25 years in one fell swoop. And of course, customising a bike like this is extremely time-consuming, as the frame has to be completely dismantled and all the individual parts carefully painted. Not to mention the colour-matched add-on parts. But such custom
tuning projects à la "Pimp my Ride" are also a highlight for us. We wish the lucky winner lots of fun with this unique bike!
