What awaits you on the Stoneman Miriquidi
2 countries, 9 peaks, 4400 metres in altitude - over 162 kilometres, the Stoneman Miriquidi takes mountain bikers to some of the most historic places in the Ore Mountains. Don't believe it? Then watch the video!

The unique combination of the special physical and mental challenge and the natural experience of the legendary Miriquidi forests are what make the German Stoneman so special. Follow us to the legendary land of precious metal, characterised by top sporting performance and warm hospitality: sit back and let yourself be enchanted by the "Stoneman Story #1 - Silberglanz".

For exactly five years, the Stoneman Miriquidi has been attracting thousands of mountain bikers from all over the world to the Ore Mountains. Through gentle valleys, dense forests, up steep ramps and down rapid descents - the 162-kilometre circuit demands everything from bikers and at the same time provides them with unforgettable insights and views. Thousands of years ago, the mountains broke off abruptly and offer all Stoneman guests magnificent panoramas of a seemingly endless sea of dark treetops - the legendary Miriquidi forests.
The unrivalled landscapes of the Stoneman conceal a world that was the source of Europe's economic boom during the Renaissance. The Ore Mountains gained sudden fame with the "Great Mountain Scream", the rich silver discoveries at the end of the 15th century. Miners excavated huge quantities of rock from the depths in search of the rich silver and ore deposits. This is how Annaberg-Buchholz developed into the mining centre of Europe over 500 years ago.

A sporting heritage that inspires everyone

53 world championship titles. 21 Olympic victories. Eric Frenzel, record Olympic champion in the Nordic combined and many other top athletes from the Ore Mountains have won victory after victory. The history of competitive sport is palpable throughout the region and pushes the Stoneman bikers to their limits and beyond. High above the rooftops of Oberwiesenthal, which is primarily known for its winter sports, sit the Fichtelberg ski jumps of the Olympic training centre. One of the most successful ski jumpers of all time welcomes Stoneman guests here as a lodging partner. In the eighties and nineties, Jens Weißflog won everything that could be won: three Olympic gold medals, two world championship titles and the Four Hills Tournament four times. Jens Weißflog and a further 22 accommodation partners who are fully geared towards bikers provide the warm hospitality along the route that characterises the Stoneman.
