Rose recorded sales of just under 150 million euros in 2021 - despite a lack of components and unusual product launches. The mail order company takes stock and provides an outlook for 2022.

Rose Bikes actually wanted to introduce five new models in 2021, but due to supply bottlenecks, only one bike was launched - the Backroad+ E-gravel bike. This is set to change in 2022. Rose is better prepared and production has been secured, says Managing Director Thorsten Heckrath-Rose in a press release. Rose has planned seven new bike platforms for the new year, four of which are electrified. As a result, Rose hopes to achieve an annual turnover of 190 million euros.

The expansion of new stores and the service offering is also planned. In the near future Cologne has its own Rose store opened. The expansion of co-operations, such as with Intersport, is also on the agenda. The shopping experience is also to be optimised in all stores and sales areas. Products will be presented more digitally and a 3D body measurement system will be introduced.

The "sustainability" factor is also on Rose's agenda. The online mail order company wants to become climate-neutral by 2025 and help transform Germany into a country of bicycle commuters. To reduce its carbon footprint, the company wants to use more sustainable packaging and improve its supply chains, for example.

Like many other bike manufacturers, Rose wants to become less dependent on Asian suppliers. To this end, more time is being invested in research and development so that one or two products can be created within Europe in the future. 2022 is set to be the "ROSE+" year, in which 40 per cent more bikes will be available.
