The Radlbauer shops are to be renamed Lucky Bike by the end of March. Will anything change for customers or will the bike shops just be renamed?

There are still nine Radlbauer shops in southern Germany, which were previously called this for reasons of tradition and are now being renamed Lucky Bike. In northern Germany, the shops have been called Lucky Bike since 2003. Lucky Bike was founded in 1994 by Thomas Böttner and Christian Morgenroth. Thomas Böttner is the son of the founder of Radlbauer, Klaus Böttner.

Organisationally and commercially, the two brands have been operating under the Lucky Bike name for a long time, with only the name and shop structure distinguishing them until now. Lucky Bike now comprises 30 bike shops throughout Germany as well as the online shop. The 1000 employees generate an annual turnover of 250 million euros.

The online shop for both brands was renamed Lucky Bike at the beginning of 2020. As soon as the customer searches for "Radlbauer", they are taken to a landing page that explains that Radlbauer and Lucky Bike belong together and they can still see and buy the same products.

Followed by a short interview with the two managing directors of Lucky Bike:
