BionX is history
BionX Canada Inc. had been under insolvency administration since February 2018, and the remains of the company were sold at the end of October. Now the German subsidiary, BionX GmbH, has also had to close its doors. It ceased all sales activities on 10 December

The fact that Bionx Germany had an extremely successful financial year in 2018 could no longer prevent the Canadian hub motor pioneer from going out of business. After an overall sale failed in June, the insolvency administrator sold the last intangible assets of BionX Canada Inc. to Amego Electric Vehicles Inc./Leisger Cycle Inc. at the end of October. As the subsidiaries - including BionX GmbH, based in Salmdorf/Haar - could not be sold and Leisger is not interested in working together, the German branch has now had to cease operations.

BionX GmbH will continue to handle ongoing business as well as warranty and guarantee cases until the first quarter of 2019. What comes after that is written in the stars. In particular, it is uncertain whether Leisger Cycle will revive the brand.
