Carbon fibre bikes at aluminium prices: This is what the mail-order company 2Fast has made its mission. Last year, the company based near Giessen started selling carbon fibre frames. The first model, the Racer, is already sold out. For 2012, however, 2Fast is following up with two affordable carbon bikes.
Racer Q 29: Affordable 29er frame
At 1150 grams, the tube-to-tube frame doesn't need to shy away from the competition. All cables can be routed internally and can be easily replaced thanks to fixed sleeves. There is a choice of BB30 or BSA thread for the bottom bracket. With a tapered head tube, the latest forks fit into the head tube. For better and easier compatibility, there are aluminium sleeves in the bottom bracket, seat tube and head tube. The frame is expected to cost 850 euros.
Trail Q: Configurator option or complete wheel
In addition to the custom-made option, the 120-millimetre Trail Q fully will also be available as a complete bike. Here, the 1900 gram frame (without shock) with carbon rocker is equipped with a Rock Shox Reba RLT U-Turn. Thanks to the lightweight triple groupset from SRAM's X.0 and carbon parts from FSA, the Trail Q weighs just 10.8 kilos. And that at a fair price of 2899 euros.
