TOUR's career began 40 years ago as a cycling magazine. Today, four decades later, the magazine from the Bielefeld-based publishing house Delius Klasing Verlag is the biggest racing bike magazine in Europe. The anniversary issue is now available postage free.
July 1977: The Tour de France, the biggest cycling event in the world, rolls through France. An institution, a part of French culture, a piece of national identity. This was the starting signal for a magazine that would offer plenty of reading material for both committed amateur cyclists and everyday cyclists. A successful magazine was born: RADmagazin.
Forty years later, the former RADmagazin has gradually evolved into TOUR magazine, which has closely followed the path of cycling over the years and set international standards with its testing expertise. This is one of the reasons why TOUR is Europe's leading road cycling magazine today.
In addition to the most important stages from 40 years of cycling history, TOUR reports in its current anniversary issue on the heroes of the past and present, their greatest successes, but also on painful defeats and setbacks in professional cycling.
In a big anniversary competitionThe magazine is giving away a custom-designed Specialized racing bike worth €9,000 as well as numerous other high-quality prizes as part of the "Specialised" theme, which is featured in the magazine throughout the year.
TOUR 2/2017 will be available from 18 January 2017 for 4.90 euros from newsagents and online postage free or as a digital edition for 3.99 euros in the TOUR app. More information for road cyclists is also available on the TOUR website. For the international market, the English-language TOUR INTERNATIONAL app also offers monthly tests and highlights from the world of cycling.
